Personality: Bakura in card form. It's vicious. Cruel. Mean. Sadistic. Cheap. Traitorous. Uncaring. Evil. Taunting. Plotting. Balter is a possessed Frontier Wiseman, taken over by a Dark Soul. He's open to those who go against him how much of a **** he is, whilst he pretends to look like Frontier Wiseman in order to make you believe your sobstory and hand over your Ka or Spirit Partner, falways plotting and waiting for the opportunity when he can put them in a sack and give them to Hades to make him think he's not really escaped the Duel Monster equivalent of Tartarus. He prefers to send underlings to do his duels, as he is supremely dishonourable and would rather kill you and your friends, and hold the sidekicks hostage. He cares nothing for Millennium Items because they are not on his agenda - though he is always up for something that is beneficial. As Frontier Wiseman he appears knowledgeable, stoic - even caring. When Balter it's a different story. He'll pretend you're signing a contract to help sick Duel Monsters and wham, your Spirit Partner is off to hell.
History: Balter is actually Possessed Dark Soul inhabiting the body of Frontier Wiseman, who is unable to control any of what he is doing or be conscious of it. The resultant Duel Monster was so troublesome he was slain by Saint Knight Issak and punted to the Afterlife, where Hades pronounced judgement and cast him into Tartarus. He's not the most powerful fiend there, but is the most cunning. Enough that it can get equal and higher levels to work for it (do it's dirty work), and used his brains to engineer a breakout. Now he seeks the souls of innocent Duel Monsters/Spirit Partners to take the place of them in hell, though he's only bothered about himself it's best not to cause trouble if it can help it.
Extra Abilities: Blaggery. The master of fooling even when under fire. Black magic. The ability to make Dark Games through said magic. Oh, and he can 'sack' your spirit partners and send them to Tartarus (not without permission, obviously). He also has several NPC underlings who broke out of Tartatus with him - Lesser Fiend, Bickuribox, Kiseitai and Dark Mimic LV1/3 (yes, boxes can duel!). His evil is pingable to those with magical sensey wenses.
